Silver Screen Favorites: "My Dear, He Isn't Received!"

We recently visited Charleston, SC, and I decided to plant a letterbox. The subject of this image has always held a certain fascination for me. I always thought it seemed extremely exciting to not be "received" in polite society. I thought I'd bring this image with me to Charleston to find a spot for the most famous fictional son of Charleston.

We found a wonderful little place for a letterbox chock full of interesting tidbits of history. Since this area would possibly have been familiar to our hero, I decided to leave him here. After all, I'm sure everyone has forgotten about the girl he took buggy riding and then refused to marry.

Your tour begins near the Four Corners of Law where you need to find this.

There's lots more here but here are the rest of the photos you need to look for in the order you need to find them. Yeah, you'll probably see some of them right away and you could jump a step or two but then you'd miss the info on Andrew Jackson's mother. Really... Who knew????

Now turn so you face the view in the next picture.

Approach the fence.

Rock is not there anymore according to one finder. Approach the fence in a direct line with the tower and look to your left. Perhaps a couple of feet toward the corner. As of Sept. 16, 2013, box is located in the monkey grass in front of a locked gate in the fence.
